Can we bring our own drinks, beer or otherwise?

Unfortunately, no. Dueling Axes – Las Vegas does have a full service bar onsite that will also carry items such as hard seltzer, water and soft drinks. Safety is our single most important priority, so if we decide that you’re too intoxicated to throw safely, you will not be allowed to throw, no exceptions.

What about food?

Dueling Axes – Las Vegas does not have its own kitchen, but your group is welcome to bring any food available within AREA15. You can buy it ahead of time and bring it in with you, or you can order it while you’re throwing and have it delivered (additional delivery fees may be incurred). Also, make sure to bring plenty of napkins to clean and dry your hands before it’s your turn to throw – we won’t have any of that to offer you. There are also several restaurants within AREA15, and you can make arrangements in advance for catering.

Do you provide plates, utensils and napkins?

Afraid not. We figure that, if you thought to bring food, you thought about how to serve it. We will have trash cans and recycling bins for when you’re done, though.

Do you accommodate outside catering?

We’re all for outside catering. Cater a full meal for your private event or bring some grub from one of the AREA15 restaurants for your small group. Don’t forget about timing, though, and make sure your food gets here with plenty of time left in your reservation to enjoy it.

Is Axe Throwing safe? Do people ever get hurt?

We get this question all the time, and we understand why people ask it. Those axes look awfully sharp! The truth is, though, we put an enormous amount of time and energy into our safety practices, and we will make your safety our top priority while you’re here. Groups only have one axe per lane, and each lane is completely enclosed in floor-to-ceiling fencing. In addition, each axe throwing reservation is preceded by a brief training session that lays out safety procedures. Like any other sport, axe throwing carries some risk, but we’re proud to say we’ve never had an injury under our roof.

Will someone train us?

Yep! As laid out above, every group goes through a short training and safety session that explains how to properly – and safely – throw an axe. This session usually takes only 10-15 minutes, and sometimes even less. And because it begins before your time reservation starts, you’ll get your full throwing session afterward.

Is axe throwing hard?

It does take some practice to throw an axe and have it consistently stick to the target. That said, it doesn’t take an enormous amount of practice; the overwhelming majority of our guests can stick the target with just a few practice throws during training, and most find it no more difficult than your average throwing-centric sport. The technique is pretty straightforward and, of course, you’ll have Dueling Axes staff on hand to offer pointers for the entirety of your reservation.

What should I wear when I go axe throwing?

All throwers are required to wear closed-toed shoes, as we want to make sure your toes are safe in the unlikely event of a dropped axe. High heels are highly discouraged in an effort to avoid ankle injuries. Aside from these parameters, wear whatever you’re comfortable in.

Can I bring my own axe?

We do not allow any outside axes to be thrown in our facility. We provide all the equipment you’ll need to participate. The one exception to this is if you throw in one of our leagues. On league nights only, participating members will be allowed to bring in WATL-approved axes to throw.

What if I’m pregnant?

We suggest you ask your doctor if axe throwing is appropriate for you during pregnancy; your individual medical circumstances are beyond our expertise, we’re afraid. Aside from that, just use common sense and pay attention to your limitations.

Do I have to pay, or buy an Experience Pass to enter the AREA15 building?

No. If you make a reservation with Dueling Axes you can use your confirmation email to skip the security line and gain direct access into the AREA15 building. No additional fee will need to be paid, or Experience Pass will need to be purchased to get into the building.

Do you have a minimum group size?

Dueling Axes – Las Vegas has no minimum group size, and our goal is for your group to always have your own private throwing lane. With a group of 3 or fewer, we reserve the option to pair you up with another small group (kind of like a golf tee time), but we’ll only do this if we absolutely must and will never make combined groups larger than 6 throwers. Don’t be nervous if there are only a couple of you; pairing up groups is very rare outside of our busiest nights, and even then, you’re going to have a great time making new friends!

How about a maximum group size?

The Dueling Axes – Las Vegas location has a maximum capacity of 216 people at a time. So feel free to round up 215 of your closest friends to get a reservation scheduled. As long as lanes are available, we’ll accommodate your party. In addition to that, for, say, larger corporate outings, we will allow the 216 capacity to be rotating, so people can come in and out. Regardless of how many people are in your group, we recommend no more than 6 people per lane so no one has to wait too long between turns. If you book a reservation for more than 6, our reservation software will automatically place you on side-by-side lanes.

What are the rules of Axe Throwing?

You’ll learn all of the safety procedures and scoring rules for our many gameplay options during the brief training session before you throw. We’ll also have a tablet at each throwing lane with the gameplay options and digital scoring.

Can we take pictures?
